Curt G. Joa Company, has made some recent changes to accommodate rapid worldwide growth. Changes include additional personnel in both management and the general workforce in three areas: regional engineering services, regional ability to produce and deliver machinery and regional ability retrofit equipment and developing the regional ability to support customer installations. “Innovation engineering and client attention are creating growth opportunities for the Curt G. Joa, Inc. company,” says Gene F. Kiela II, president. The Sheboygen, WI-based company is present in 55 countries through the engineering, design, installation and support of its machines used in converting nonwovens and other materials into consumer goods including baby and adult diapers, feminine napkins and panty liners. At the center of these changes is the acquisition of its former ally and fellow absorbent products machinery supplier Bikoma GmbH, which is based in Mayen, Germany. Bikoma is proficient in supporting all of Joa’s machines worldwide. Following this acquisition, Bikoma founder Bernd Goebel, will step away down after more than 18 years with the company. In his place, Ralf Holz will manage the Bikoma operation, assisted by Michael Gritzbach. Both men have experience building sales team in the dsposables industry. In addition to the purchase of Bikoma, Joa will achieve its goals by immediately investing more capital in its company, expanding production of replacement parts regionally, strengthening its ties to Bikoma, opening new markets and growing support at its center in Chennai, India and continuing its promise to install, maintain and support its equipment, according to the company.
